{"id":169,"date":"2017-03-15T22:33:03","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T22:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dcfeedback.com\/fit2print\/?p=169"},"modified":"2017-03-15T22:35:11","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T22:35:11","slug":"public-expects-gutting-of-comprehensive-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.dcfeedback.com\/fit2print\/dc\/citywide\/169","title":{"rendered":"Public Expects Gutting of Comprehensive Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>Press Release: DC for Reasonable Development, 202 810 2768<br \/>\nMarch 15, 2017<\/h6>\n<h1>OFFICE OF PLANNING TO THROW OPEN DOORS TO AMENDING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; <em>Public Protections Expected to be Gutted by Developers<\/em><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><br \/>\nWashington, DC<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 On March 6, 2017, Eric Shaw, Director of the DC Office of Planning <a href=\"http:\/\/dc.granicus.com\/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=2&amp;clip_id=3782\" target=\"_blank\">told the DC City Council<\/a> that the Mayor intends to announce an &#8216;Open Call&#8217; for amendments to the District of Columbia Comprehensive Plan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/planning.dc.gov\/page\/2006-comprehensive-plan\" target=\"_blank\">The Comprehensive Plan<\/a> is DC&#8217;s central planning document.<\/p>\n<p>The Comprehensive Plan took more than four years to develop, and guides anticipated development of DC&#8217;s built environment over a 20-year period (2006-2026). To date there is no publicly available report showing how the Comp Plan policies are being used and whether they are working, or not.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;We are now halfway through the 20-year plan,&#8217; said <strong>Ward 4 ANC Commissioner Renee Bowser<\/strong>. &#8216;The Office of Planning has not reported on the efficacy of the current plan policies they are asking us to change.
