housing goals.\u00a0Today, In answer to a question from Mark Segraves of NBC4. \u201cWill the DC Council pass the Comp Plan this year?\u201d Chair Mendelson replied, \u201cGiven the Council schedule, style=\"font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)\">yesterday&#39;s press conference, Mendelson<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)\"> noted plans for a public hearing November 12-13 that is expected to be quite lengthy and that the public health emergency had disrupted the legislative schedule.<span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;line-height:normal\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)\">\u00a0<span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;line-height:normal\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)\">Pressed for her reaction, Mayor Bowser made clear she hopes for passage this year. <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)\">\u201cI certainly would like to talk to the Chairman about it,\u201d she said. \u201cWe will have more conversations.\u201d<span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;line-height:normal\"><span Mendelson said of a quick markup and vote. But he later seemed to dismiss the likelihood of that kind of consensus, noting that groups such as the Committee of 100 on the Federal City have urged the council to return the draft plan for further work<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)\">, taking into account the pandemic and\u00a0a\u00a0new\u00a0trend of\u00a0population\u00a0loss\u00a0in the city.
