margin: 0in; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">The immediate reason for the protest is the displacement of Black and Brown residents from Brookland Manor (BM) apartments, the largest affordable housing complex left in DC located between Rhode Island and New York Avenues, NE, in Ward 5. With CM McDuffie\u2019s support, the District has approved a plan by owner and developer MidCity Financial to greatly increase density on the property while greatly reducing the number of affordable units.
