Across DC, long-time residents\u2014especially low-income families and historically Black communities\u2014are being pushed out as development accelerates without a plan to protect them. Weakening the rules that are supposed to guide growth will only make this worse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><strong>This case is about whether there are any reasonable checks and balances to the profit-driven real estate &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/savedcpublicland.org\/the1617project\/2026\/04\/01\/dmped-land-dispositions-in-wild-west-dc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer\">wild-west<\/a>&#8221; in DC that has already been driving devastating displacement.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;font-size:10pt\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\">This is a turning point.
