These showings will enable DC  Council and the public to assess whether the sweeping changes are  justified to improve the quality of life of District residents.<\/span><\/b><\/font><\/span><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/font><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family:verdana,sans-serif\"><font size=\"6\"><b>WARD ONE RESIDENTS ASK BRIANNE NADEAU TO RESCIND HER LAST MINUTE CHANGES TO THE PLANNING MAPS<\/b><\/font><\/span><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b>Seventy Ward 1 residents have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcfeedback.com\/fit2print\/dc\/600\">sent a letter to the City Council and their Councilmember<\/a>, Brianne Nadeau, asking her to rescind proposed changes to the Comp Plan maps that will permanently affect Ward 1 neighborhoods, like Adams Morgan.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/b><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b>From the letter-writers:<\/p>\n<p><\/b><\/font><font size=\"4\"><b><\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"gmail_quote\" style=\"margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex\">\n<div><font size=\"2\"><b>These proposed changes are a complete surprise in their late announcement and are not accompanied by any efficacy reporting or planning impact studies.<\/p>\n<p><\/b><\/font><font size=\"2\"><b>We &#8230; want to see and participate in updated small area planning to examine any harms the additional population growth may have on existing neighborhood services like our schools, libraries, clinics, our existing transportation systems, the environment, and to see how we can eliminate, or at least mitigate, the obvious displacement pressures that come with development.<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b><\/p>\n<p><\/b><\/font><font size=\"4\"><b><\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b><\/b><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"4\"><b>At a recent ANC meeting, <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1_zXmRvCGzjsgLK1xb0Yc00ZxGg-492mf\/view\">Nadeau unveiled for the first time upzoning proposals that would move the development needle along Columbia Road from moderate to medium density<\/a>.&nbsp; There were about 20 people, including ANC Commissioners, in attendance.
