MCMILLAN SUPPORTERS ASK MENDELSON TO DEMAND DEMOLITION STOP NOW — ASBESTOS AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY LAWS BEING RUN OVER BY THE MAYOR!
Please see attached omnibus reply to the numerous emails Chairman Mendelson has sent to many of his constituents who have written to him about his McMillan Park amendment that is exempting the project from all District laws.
Specifically, his amendment is allowing the project to proceed by ignoring two life-safety regulations: 1) asbestos testing/reporting/mitigation and 2) erecting of pedestrian-safety barricades around the site.
Therefore, his constituents insist that Mr. Mendelson immediately call on the Mayor to stop demolition to ensure that the asbestos and pedestrian barricades requirements are openly and transparently fulfilled (which the neighbors have been asking for some time now).
