City Paper awards Best Gadfly to Nick DelleDonne

Washington City Paper has announced it “Best of DC” awards in its publication of Sept. 18-24, 2020. The award for Best Gadfly went to Nick DelleDonne, a resident of Dupont Circle.

“I am proud to receive the distinction from Washington City Paper for Best Gadfly and to be associated with a rich legacy. In ancient Greece, Socrates called himself the Gadfly who stings the Steed of State to provoke elected officials to carry out the responsibilities of elective office. In Dupont Circle, it is a full-time job.” DelleDonne said.

Editor Mitch Ryals notes DelleDonne established the neighborhood listserv HearUsNow! to encourage discussion of neighborhood civic issues. “It’s like talking over the backyard fence where everyone can join in the discussion,” DelleDonne said.

DelleDonne is a founder of the neighborhood civic association Dupont East Civic Action Association, a 501©3 non-profit corporation, where the mission is community engagement and civic action.

“Congratulations to all in the community for your dedicated, tireless efforts. You make our comunity great. Your names are written on our heart,” DelleDonne said.
